Awarded “Best Emerging Artist” by
Art and Antiques at the Carmel Festival of Art in 2002, Ken Roth is a Central Oregon artist whose paintings are filled with rich color and light on the landscape and figure. Born in San Diego, California in 1966, Roth developed a love of the outdoors and seeks to capture nature’s harmonies in his paintings.

Ken studied under Spanish master Sebastian Capella, whose painting theories have had a profound influence on Roth’s work. Capella’s encouragement to simplify a painting and to seek the most fundamental shape, value and color organization has strengthened Ken’s approach to design. Roth has also studied with Russian impressionist Ovanes Berberian and American painter Scott Christensen.

Ken is currently working with Developers, Art Consultants and Interior Designers to show case his work in such establishments as Pronghorn’s newest Clubhouse, the Mercato Building in the Old Mill District and the Caldera Springs Resort in Sunriver. Ken is currently featured in the
Guild Sourcebook of Architectural and Interior Art and in Art Business News, June 2009, as an Emerging Artist.

Selected as an “Artist to Watch” in
Southwest Art in Jan. 2002
